About Ed Camp Roswell

Ed Camp Roswell is hosted by Martha Smith and Scott Kent, both English teachers at Centennial High School.

Our goal is to create a space that will allow like-minded teachers from local schools and beyond to come together and share ideas.

For many of us, professional development provided by school systems and administrations, while well-intentioned, seem stale and out of step with our concerns and goals in the classroom. We want to break that cycle and give teachers the opportunity to share practical and timely ideas.

The Edcamp Foundation Edcamps should be:

  • free
  • non-commercial and conducted with a vendor-free presence
  • hosted by any organization interested in furthering the Edcamp mission
  • made up of sessions that are determined on the day of the event
  • events where anyone who attends can be a presenter
  • reliant on the “law of two feet” that encourages participants to find a session that meets their needs

  • What is an EdCamp?

An EdCamp is an unconference. Have you ever noticed how many times the best ideas you get at a conference come from talking to your peers?

An EdCamp is a no-nonsense group of like-minded teaching professionals who come together to share ideas, problems, and solutions.

There are no exhibit halls or sales pitches masquerading as presentations.

EdCamp Roswell is about English teachers working together.
